Lake Powell, Utah
September 20th through 25th
|

We flew from Washington DC to Atlanta and then to Salt Lake City, Utah. Once we arrived, Doug immediately
drove us down to Lake Powell... One catch, we had to tow a powerboat down for our enjoyment on the lake.
The ride down was scenic until we blew a tire on the boat trailer down one of the canyons. Doug did a great
job of pulling off the side of the road and ended up on a soft shoulder. Rebecca took care of Allie (doggie)
while Doug and I drove the trailer back on the road to change the tire. Scary moment with monster trailers
flying past while changing the tire. Finally, around nine in the evening we met up with Terri, Rob, Micaela,
Martin and Aimee on the houseboat. We stayed the night at Bullfrog Marina. The next morning we headed down
the lake, enjoying the various landscapes. Weather was perfect throughout the week. Day temperatures were in
the mid 80's and at night around the mid 50's. Water temperature was around 78 degrees. Pictures below will
they you the story... but if you did not get it. We all had a great time from cooking, eating gourmet dinners,
dancin, driving the boat, tubing, water skiing, hiking, swimming and jumping/sliding off the boat. The millions
of starts filled the night with unpolluted lights. We saw the Milky Way like never before with falling stars,
calm winds and the occasional UFO sightings. Oh... and the live music/entertainment provided by Rob and Doug
around the campfires was something to remember. |

Salt Lake City and Park City, Utah
September 25th through 27th
|
|
Returning from Lake Powell Doug, Aimee, Rebecca and I decided to have dinner at the Market Street,
one of Salt Lake's yummy restaurants. Our friendship filled the evening with wine, laughter, dinner
and desserts topped with a late night cappuccino. Then it was off to Park City for the day to get Ed
fired up about a return trip for world-class skiing. |
